The Royal Oak Police Department is hosting an open house from 5-8 p.m. Friday at its new police station, 450 E. 11 Mile Road.

ROYAL OAK, MI — The Royal Oak Police Department has a new police station, and residents hoping for a chance to check it out can do so this week.

The department is hosting an open house from 5-8 p.m. Friday at its new police station, 450 E. 11 Mile Road. Those who attend will get the opportunity to tour the facility and ask questions of the police staff.

"We are really excited for people to see behind the scenes how our new facility functions and flows," Royal Oak Police Chief Corrigan O’Donohue said. “We’ve been conducting all our operations in the new station since February, but due to the pandemic we have not been able to invite the public into many spaces beyond the lobby area."
