Man Dies After Crash Near Detroit Zoo Parking Structure
The man's vehicle veered off the road at the Washington Avenue split and hit a concrete support structure.

ROYAL OAK, MI – A 29-year-old Detroit man died after an early Monday morning crash in the parking support structure at the Detroit Zoo, according to police reports. The driver, who police did not identify, died at the scene of the crash, police said.
Royal Oak police responded to crash scene at about 12:30 a.m. on Monday. Police said the driver was headed south on Woodward Avenue near Ten Mile Road, where the vehicle veered off the road at the Washington Avenue split and hit a concrete support structure.
The man was only passenger in the vehicle, police said.

Southbound Woodward Avenue was shut down while investigators from the Royal Oak Police Department and Oakland County Sheriff’s Office investigated.
