Mother's Day Weekend Weather Forecast: Soggy, Sunny and Cool

You may want to plan an indoor activity Saturday.

METRO DETROIT, MI – After a near-perfect warm, sunny day on Friday, Saturday could be a disappointment. But that's OK — sunny skies return over Metro Detroit in time for Mother's Day.

A rainy spring day shaping up for Saturday offers plenty of indoor time to start pamperping Mom. Rain chances are 70 percent, according to the National Weather Service, especially between 9 and 10 a.m. Thunderstorms could occur after 10 a.m.

New rainfall amounts of a tenth to a quarter of an inch are expected, with some locally higher amounts possible during thunderstorms. A high temperature of 69 is expected, with a south wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west-northwest in the afternoon.

Skies will clear overnight and Sunday will be mostly sunny, but a little chilly, with a high near 64 and west wind 7 to 11 mph.
