Severe Weather Warnings Expire

Tornado and severe thunderstorms warnings come and go without much ado. Sunny and near 90 degrees forecast for tomorrow.

Whew, that's a relief. The tornado, severe thunderstorm and flood watches and warnings issued this afternoon and evening have been canceled, with the Royal Oak area escaping with just a little rain and thunder Sunday evening.

The National Weather Service had issued tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings until 6:45 p.m. along with a flood watch.

Tornado sirens sounded about 5:30 p.m., signaling residents to be ready to take cover as a strong line of storms capable of producing tornadoes moves in from the west. At 5:25 p.m., NWS radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter size hail and destructive winds in excess of 70 mph.
