MSP Accuse Detroit Man Of Stealing Vehicle, Concealing Loaded Gun
Police said they discovered a Taurus 9mm pistol with a fully loaded magazine under the driver's seat upon a search of the vehicle.
ROYAL OAK, MI — A 26-year-old Detroit man is accused of stealing a vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon, Michigan State Police said Tuesday.
Troopers around 3 a.m. Tuesday were inspecting property at the Baymont Inn in Royal Oak Township when they noticed a vehicle idling in the parking lot, police said.
When troopers checked the vehicle, they discovered it had been reported stolen out of Detroit, according to police. The troopers took the driver into custody, police said. Police discovered a Taurus 9mm pistol with a fully loaded magazine under the driver's seat of the car upon a search, police said.

The accused admitted to possessing and carrying the firearm without the proper licensing to do so, according to police.
He was lodged at the Oakland County Jail, police said, with his case having been submitted to prosecutors for formal charges on concealing a weapon, possessing a stolen vehicle, driving on a suspended license, having open intoxicants in the vehicle and violation of the governor's executive order.
