So my prediction is that an average student could miss a year or two of school without major long-term effects. Their standardized test score would be lower at the end of the two years they missed than some other student who had been in school the whole time. But after a short period they would equalize again. I don’t think you need to burn yourself out working overtime to send your kid to a private school, I don’t think you need to risk your immunocompromised kid’s health to send her to the classroom, I think you can just chill. ROYAL OAK, MI — A 26-year-old Detroit man is accused of stealing a vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon, Michigan State Police said Tuesday. Troopers around 3 a.m. Tuesday were inspecting property at the Baymont Inn in Royal Oak Township when they noticed a vehicle idling in the parking lot, police said.When troopers checked the vehicle, they discovered it had been reported stolen out of Detroit, according to police. The troopers took the driver into custody, police said. Police discovered a Taurus 9mm pistol with a fully loaded magazine under the driver's seat of the car upon a search, police said. The accused admitted to possessing and carrying the firearm without the proper licensing to do so, according to police. He was lodged at the Oakland County Jail, police said, with his case having been submitted to prosecutors for formal charges on concealing a weapon, possessing a stolen vehicle, driving on a suspended license, having open intoxicants in the vehicle and violation of the governor's executive order.
