Oakland County Man Shot While Trying To Sell Phone: Police
The suspect grabbed the phone and ran away, according to police, and the victim was shot while trying to get the phone back.
SOUTHFIELD, MI — An 18-year-old Oakland County man was shot Monday after someone tried stealing an iPhone he was trying to sell, according to Southfield police.
Southfield police said in a news release Tuesday that officers responded to the 2700 block of Arlington around 8:20 p.m. Monday following the report of a shooting. When they arrived at the scene, they found an 18-year-old Oakland County man with a single gunshot wound to the back, according to the news release.
Police said the victim was at the location to sell an iPhone to someone. When the victim met with the person, police said, the suspect grabbed the phone from the victim's hand and ran away. The victim was able to catch up to the suspect and a struggle ensued before a second person shot the victim in the back, police said.

Southfield police said a 17-year-old Southfield man is in custody in connection with the shooting. The victim is in stable condition at a local hospital, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
