One-Winged Eagle Getting New Home At Detroit Zoo
Mr. America was found seriously injured in April, and has been nursed back to health. He'll now be moved to the Detroit Zoo.

ROYAL OAK, MI – Mr. America is getting a new home: The Detroit Zoo. The bald eagle, who was found injured in April in southern Indiana, has been nursed back to health by a wildlife rescuer Angel Lange.
The eagle, who apparently flew into a power line, was badly injured and has to have a wing amputated, according to a report in the Vincennes Sun-Commercial in Vincennes, Indiana.
Federal law allows an eagle to remain in a rescuer’s care only 180 days before it must be released or moved to a permanent home, according to media reports. Federal wildlife officials chose to move the raptor to the Detroit Zoo.
