Royal Oak Business Cited For Coronavirus Violation: MIOSHA
A Royal Oak business failed to have a COVID-19 preparedness and response plan, state officials said Friday.
ROYAL OAK, MI — A Royal Oak business has been cited for violating Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules implemented during the coronavirus pandemic, state officials said Friday.
United Resin Corporation was cited but not fined for not developing a written COVID-19 preparedness and response plan, state officials said. The citation was issued following an inspection that was initiated in response to an employee complaint, according to officials.
Under MIOSHA’s Emergency Rules, businesses that involve in-person work are required to have a written COVID-19 preparedness and response plan and provide thorough training to their employees that covers the proper use of personal protection equipment and steps workers must take to notify the business or operation of any symptoms of COVID-19 or a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19.
