A second officer arrived moments later and helped with CPR. Narcan is an anti-opioid medication carried by all Royal Oak patrol officers and used to reverse the effects of opioid-based substances such as heroin if administered in a timely fashion, Royal Oak police said in a news release.

As officers continued with treatment, the St. Clair Shores man began to breathe on his own and his condition improved. He was then turned over to paramedics and transported to a local hospital for further care. Police said his expected to fully recover.
