Royal Oak Rapper Danny Brown Joins Eminem On Monster Tour

Influenced by Dr. Suess, Danny Brown is making headlines once again as he joins Eminem and Rihanna on the Monster tour in London.

A Royal Oak native Danny Brown has confirmed through his Twitter account that he’ll be opening at Detroit superstar Eminem’s concerts in London July 11-12, The Oakland Press reports.

Brown may be a local artist but he doesn’t have a local sound. In fact, the rapper doesn’t sound like anyone you have heard before – and that quality is what sets him apart.

“I care about the music more than anything,” Brown tells the Breakfast Club in an interiew posted on YouTube. “My favorite rappers growing up were Nas and E-40. I look at artists like Arthur Lee and Ian Curtis for influence.”

The London concerts will take place at the Wembley stadium this summer. Brown, who gained notoriety for his three albums, has worked with many of music’s notable artists. Joining him will be rap group Odd Future.

Brown has been rapping since kindergarten and hasn’t stopped since. Working with artists like ASAP Rocky, Vampire Weekend and E-40,  he has emerged as one of the leading voices in hip-hop.

Eminem is pulling out all the stops for this tour. He has tapped Rihanna to join him on his three-stadium run at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, MetLife Stadium outside New York and Comercia Park in Detroit. He hasn’t performed in his hometown for four years, Patch reports.

Both the Aug. 22 and Aug. 23 shows in Detroit are sold out.
