Here's a look at what Royal Oak police have been up to for the past week.
ROYAL OAK, MI — Royal Oak police released their weekly report, outlining their calls throughout the week including vehicle theft, a felony absconder, an alcohol and cocaine arrest and more.

Vehicle Theft

Between 8 p.m. on Feb. 24 and 7 a.m. on Feb. 25, the victim discovered unknown suspect(s) stole 2015 Dodge Caravan while it was parked in the street in front of her residence.
Felony Absconder Warrant Arrest

Officers were dispatched to a suspicious person that was offering to shovel peoples snow, near the 600 block of S. Laurel. Officers located the man and found the was wanted for a felony absconder warrant from the Michigan Department of Corrections. The 65-year old Pontiac man was arrested for the felony warrant.
Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol and Cocaine Arrest
Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle speeding and swerving on Woodward. Officers investigation found the driver to be intoxicated and cocaine inside the vehicle. The 35-year-old Royal Oak man was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated and Possession of Cocaine.
Retail Fraud, Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia and Warrant Arrest
Officers were dispatched to 5150 Coolidge (Meijer) for a shoplifter in the business. Officers spoke with security who stated the man stole over $150.00 worth of alcohol and merchandise. The suspect had a prior Retail Fraud warrant from 46th District Court in Southfield. During the arrest, the officers located a crack pipe in his pocket. The 52-year-old Detroit man was arrested for the Retail Fraud, Misdemeanor Warrant and Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia.

- One (1) Operating While Intoxicated (2nd Offense) and Obstruction
- One (1) Operating While Intoxicated (2nd Offense) and Driving While License Suspended
- One (1) Operating While Intoxicated (2nd Offense) and Concealed Pistol Violation
- One (1) Operating While Intoxicated and Possession of Cocaine
- Five (5) Driving While License Suspended
- Four (4) Driving While License Suspended and Misdemeanor Warrant
- One (1) Retail Fraud (3rd Degree) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- One (1) Trespassing and Violation of Conditional Bond
- One (1) Disorderly Conduct
- Four (4) Probation Violation
Royal Oak Snow Emergency Ordinance Reminder
Now that winter is here residents and visitors are reminded of Royal Oak’s Snow Emergency
Ordinance. Snow Emergency conditions are generally defined as a snowfall of four inches or more and will remain in effect until your street has been plowed. All vehicles on residential streets are to be removed or will be ticketed or towed. Vehicles are to remain off the streets until plow trucks have gone through the area. Once a snow emergency is called and plowing begins, it takes approximately 24-36 hours to plow all city streets, depending on how much snow has fallen.
