SALINE CITY COUNCIL

March 19, 2012 REGULAR MEETING

SYNOPSIS

The Regular meeting of the Saline City Council was called to order at 7:35 p.m. by Mayor Driskell at Saline City Hall.  The Mayor and all members of Council were present.

There were nine citizens present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.  By unanimous vote of Council, the Agenda was approved as amended. The Environmental Commission gave their annual report. There were no citizen comments on agenda items.  The following Consent Agenda items were approved  by unanimous vote of Council: Council minutes and synopsis of the March 5, 2012 regular meeting; payment of 127 payees in the amount of $178,395.76.

UnFinished Business:

By unanimous vote of Council, the following items were approved:  Resolution supporting the Saline Historic Downtown Alliance’s application with IRS for 501(c)(3) charitable tax exempt designation.

New Business:

By unanimous vote of Council, the following items were approved:  FY2012-2013 SAFD Operating & Capital Improvement Budgets totaling $1,098,349 with a recommendation that the SAFD Executive Board adopt the budgets; Resolution No. 1 for FY201202013 Fire Special Assessment, setting a public hearing on May 7, 2012 to hear and consider any objections to the city’s proposed share for fire protection in the amount of $322,868; Staff authorized to make application to the Judy Ivan Healthy Communities Endowment for a grant of $800 to purchase ADA shower seats and stainless steel hand/grab bars for installation in the private shower area.

There were seven Discussion and/or Report items.  There were no public comments.  

The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
