Nicholas "Nick" Gerard Belanger, age 26, passed away on January 22, 2012. Nicholas was born on January 9, 1986 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Van and Laurie (Fiegel) Belanger.
Nicholas was a 2004 graduate of Saline High School. Nicholas was happiest playing hockey, watching University of Michigan football, hockey, and on the golf course. Some of his proudest moments were while he was coaching Fr. Gabriel Richard High Hockey Team where they won their first ever Catholic League Championship.
Surviving Nicholas are his devoted parents, Van and Laurie (Fiegel) Belanger, sister, Kelsey Belanger and her fiancé Cody Masten, grandparents, Paul and Bernie Fiegel, grandmother Mary Jane Belanger. Nicholas is preceded in death by his grandfather Thomas Belanger, Sr., and his Great grandparents, Herman and Rubena Boelter. Nicholas is also survived by his many uncles, aunts, cousins, and his beloved dog, Forrest.

The family will gather with friends at Nie Funeral Home, 3767 West Liberty Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48103-9014 on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 2-4 p.m, and 6-8 p.m. A visitation will be held Friday, January 27, 2012 at 10 a.m. at , 910 Austin Drive, Saline, MI 48176 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Father David Rosenberg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be shared with the "Coach Nick Scholarship" Fund.
