ChadTough presents An Evening with Mitch Albom

BESTSELLING AUTHOR MITCH ALBOM TO MAKE SALINE APPEARANCE FOR HIS NEW BOOK FINDING CHIKA

The ChadTough Foundation is honored to host “An Evening with Mitch Albom,”
sponsored by Bill Crispin Chevrolet. The event will take place Monday, February 24th at the
Saline Middle School Auditorium. The best-selling author will be promoting his latest book,
Finding Chika: A Little Girl, an Earthquake, and the Making of a Family. With this book, the
author of Tuesdays With Morrie returns to nonfiction for the first time in over a decade to
celebrate Chika, a young Haitian orphan whose short life would forever change his heart.
Moved by the suffering he witnessed after the devastating Haiti earthquake of 2010, Mitch and
his wife, Janine, adopted a failing orphanage in the city of Port-au-Prince. There he met Chika,
a bold and curious 5-year-old girl who had developed DIPG – the same form of pediatric brain
cancer that Chad Carr suffered from. The story of their journey and the many things they
learned along the way is told in Finding Chika.
It is Mitch’s hope that audiences will be moved by Chika’s courage, enlightened by her journey,
inspired by her humanity, and empowered to help ease the suffering of children worldwide. The
event will begin at 7pm with auditorium doors opening at 6:30pm. Immediately following the
program, Mitch will be available to sign books for attendees.
Tickets that include a copy of the book range from $25 - $35 (without a book from $10 - $20)
and can be purchased at Mitch in Saline | Powered By GiveSmart. Proceeds from ticket sales
will be donated to The ChadTough Foundation, whose mission is to fund game changing
research for pediatric brain cancer.
