Hoekstra, Walberg, Haskell and Fink Carry Voting in Saline
Interest in the city was low.

Saline's Democrats and Republicans weren't very enthusiastic about voting Tuesday.
Just over 17.6 percent (1,078 out of 6,115) of Saline registered voters cast ballots in Tuesday's primary — and many of those voters did so via absentee voting.
There weren't many contested races. In the vote for Republican U.S. Senate candidate, Saline went with Pete Hoekstra over Clark Durant (313-232).

The most local contested race was between candidates for the 22nd Circuit Court Judge. With 406 votes, James Fink was the most popular candidate. Carol Kuhnke, with 196 votes, was second. The top two candidates in county-wide voting will be on the November ballot.
The other contested races were for U.S. Representative in the 7th District.

Saline voters went with Incumbent Republican Tim Walberg over challenger Dan Davis (497-111). On the Democratic side, Saline voters chose Kurt Haskell over Ruben Marquez (226-128).
