November Election Deadline Nears
So far there are three candidates in the running for three seats on city council.
The deadline for filing for the November election is at 4 p.m. Aug. 7.
Nominations are coming in slowly.
In the Saline municipal election, and are the only two candidates running for mayor.

There are three seats open in the city council race. The seats held by Marl, David Rhoads and Dean Girbach will be filled in November. Rhoads has filed and Girbach is collecting signatures for his nominating petition. Former city finance director Lee Bourgoin, , has also filed to run.
The county website lists no candidates for the Saline Area Schools board of education race. The terms of Lisa Slawson and Chuck Lesch expire at the end of the year. Lesch has said he is not seeking re-election. This spring, Slawson, the board president, and Dawn Ducca announced a joint campaign for the two available seats.
