Zumbathon to support local dance company

Pure Existence, a professional dance company based in Ann Arbor, will host a Zumbathon on Sunday October 2, 2016, 1:30-3pm, at Ann Arbor Dance Classics at 3777 Plaza Drive. Certified Zumba fitness instructors will lead an energizing class for all ages and levels. Admission is $10 at the door, although donations of all amounts will be accepted. Attendees will be able to meet the Pure Existence companymembers, and enjoy an afternoon of Zumba fitness.

“We work hard every Sunday training and rehearsing for our performances, so we can’t wait to let loose and share the afternoon with our community,” says P.E. associate director Megan Scheppelman. Megan is also a dancer in the company, which is actively seeking additional funding to support this season’s programming. The Zumbathon proceeds will benefit P.E. to help cover budgetary needs like artist salary, technical staff, and outreach programs.

Pure Existence Dance (P.E.) was founded in 2012 by local dance educator and director Jodie Randolph. P.E. provides an avenue for professional and aspiring dancers to develop artistic expression, inspires audiences through performance and education, and brings art awareness to the public. The company is comprised of local professional dancers, along with a youth performance group for high school students. P.E. is supported by the Weikart Family Foundation, plus the generous support of its individual donors and corporate sponsors.
