Choking Hazard: Plastic Found in Entenmann’s Little Bites Brownies, Muffins Sold in Michigan

Bimbo Bakeries issued a voluntary recall, saying the baked goods were made in Illinois at a contract manufacturer's plant.

People who love to snack on Entenmann’s Little Bites brownies and muffins may want to check their pantries. Bimbo Bakeries, the maker of Entenmann’s products, has issued a voluntary recall of some snack foods made in Illinois and sold in Michigan.

The recall was prompted after customers told the company about finding “small pieces of plastic" in their brownies and muffins. One injury was reported, the company said. The plastic pieces could cause choking or cutting hazards, the company said.

Bimbo Bakeries said the contamination was caused by "a manufacturing failure at a contract manufacturer’s bakery in Illinois," according to a media release. Bimbo, operated by Mexico-based Grupo Bimbo, is the largest bakery company in the United States.
