Deputies Investigating Alleged Hit List At A Macomb County Middle School

Deputies are investigating the alleged hit list created by Powell Middle School students.

MACOMB COUNTY, MI — A reported "hit list" is making the news in Macomb County. And this hit list wasn't generated by mobsters, it's allegedly the work of middle school students, according to a news release.

Macomb County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to Powell Middle School (62100 Jewell Rd., Washington Township) at approximately 10 a.m. today to meet with the principal regarding suspicious information discovered on the schools computers. A parent notified police after allegedly became tipped off to a reported "hit list" students were creating. On the list: Celebrities, politicians and students at the school.

Investigators from the Macomb County Sheriff's Detective Bureau and the Macomb Area Computer Enforcement (M.A.C.E) team are on the case and investigating a series of online documents, the alleged "hit list."

The school is currently open and no charges have been filed.
