Detroit Severe Storm Forecast: Tornadoes, Hail Possible
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather alert for Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties.
METRO DETROIT — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather alert for Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee, and Monroe counties until 8 p.m. Thursday night.
There is an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms during the afternoon through about 8 PM. Threats include wind gusts up to 60 mph and hail over one inch in diameter, and possibly golf ball size or greater. Tornadoes are also possible. Storm motion will be west to east at 45 mph. Emergency managers in the area were notified minutes ago of the threat.
