Don't Be Tardy! Lake Shore High School Announces New Attendance Policy
Truants will now face consequences including community service hours.

ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI — Attention, students! Snooze alarm if you dare. Lake Shore High School just announced a new attendance policy and it's effective immediately, according to the school's Twitter account.
Here's a breakdown of the new policy:
-10 unexcused tardies: Visit with administrator and/or notified in writing.

-15 tardies: Early release detention/community service assigned.
-20 tardies: Meeting with parent and student.

-25 tardies: One early release detention/community service assigned and one hour of community service outside of school assigned.
As far as absences go, below please find the new guidelines:
-5 absences (excused/unexcused): Meet with adminstrator.
-8 absences: Early release detention/community service.
-10 absences: Parent meeting.
10+ absences - TBD: Truancy filing or other consequence as deemed appropriate by administration.
