The Lake House Adds Four New Board Members
The Lake House recently added four new members to its Board of Directors.

The Lake House recently added four new members to its Board of Directors. The four joining members are Sarah Bannon, Jill Davenport, George McMullen and Leslie Wagner. The board is crucial to the nonprofit’s success, responsible for funding oversight, input in the programs that are offered, assistance in event planning and so much more.
The Lake House Director Madeline Bialecki said, “The Lake House is honored to have such an amazing board that is crucial to our cause. We are always open to new board members, volunteers and more.”
- Sarah Bannon is currently a Management Consultant, Interim CEO, COO and holds Vice President roles at Tele-health. Bannon will bring her vast healthcare knowledge to assist Lake House members. She previously had leadership roles at The Guidance Center and other health care companies. She’s an avid volunteer and is also a committee member for the greater Michigan chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Her degree is a Master of Social Work from Michigan State University. Bannon is a resident of Waterford.
- Jill Davenport is currently a Guidance Counselor at Grosse Pointe North. Davenport will provide vast knowledge about counseling at The Lake House. She has held previous positions in various industries such as Human Resources, cancer research, and more. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Walsh College. Davenport has two sons, and is a resident of Grosse Pointe Woods.
- George McMullen is on the following boards: Grosse Pointe Woods Board of Review, Advisory Board of the Family Center, Grosse Pointe Woods Local Officers Compensation Commission, Grosse Pointe Public School System Board, Grosse Pointe Rotary Interact Club, Grosse Pointe Rotary, and the League of Woman Voters. His extensive knowledge regarding the local community will greatly benefit The Lake House. He has a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Regis College. McMullen is a 17-year resident of Grosse Pointe Woods.
- Leslie Wagner is a Clinical, Health, and Design Psychologist. She has conducted research across the globe from Boston University to India, Israel, Europe and more. She is Past President of the Board of Directors of the International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit and has traveled the globe as Certified International Property Specialist of the National Association of Realtors. Wagner is a resident of Grosse Pointe.

The Lake House mission is to provide a safe harbor to support, educate and empower those touched by cancer. To fulfill this mission, the nonprofit provides a variety of services for survivors, caregivers, friends and family and those who have lost someone to cancer. Along with support groups, The Lake House offerings include wellness activities, such as yoga and Zumba, in addition to social and creative opportunities, like crafting and journaling. Newly featured programs include a weekly Caregivers Support Group and a Writing for Wellness group. Additionally, educational presentations by local experts are available throughout the year to the larger community. Private and foundation donations, along with fundraising events, allow The Lake House to provide all programs free of charge.
