Macomb County Health Department Opens 2 New Flu Shot Sites

MACOMB COUNTY, MI — The Macomb County Health Department announced this week that it will be operating two new drive-through flu shots sites in Macomb County — one in Mount Clemens and another in St. Clair Shores.

Flu shots will be available in Mount Clemens in the parking lot of the former Macomb County Juvenile Court Building located at 380 North Rose, the health department said. The site will be open from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning the week of Sept. 28. Appointments are required.

Flu shots will also be available in St. Clair Shores, in the parking lot of the Macomb County Southeast Family Resource Center located at 25401 Harper Ave., according to the county health department. The site will be open from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, beginning the week of Sept. 28. Appointments are required.

“Obtaining an annual seasonal flu vaccine is the best way to help protect you and your family against flu, and reduce the risk of flu illness,” Macomb County Health Department Director and Health Officer William Ridella said. “The convergence of the COVID-19 pandemic and the flu season makes flu vaccinations absolutely critical to local efforts to help avoid potentially dangerous pressure on our health care system, hospitals and community.”
