METRO DETROIT, MI — The kids will need a jacket when they head off to school Monday morning after an overnight low of 54, but they’ll be able to shed it by afternoon when the temperatures reach near 76.
The pattern of warm days and cool nights and early mornings will continue for most of the week, with rain chances entering the forecast by Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 76; calm wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the morning. Monday night: Clear, with a low around 58; south-southeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 82; light southwest wind becoming south southwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning; winds could gust as high as 18 mph. Tuesday night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 a.m.. mostly cloudy, with a low around 65; southwest wind around 7 mph.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 p.m.; partly sunny, with a high near 72. Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 52.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Friday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms; mostly cloudy, with a low around 61.
