Metro Detroit Weather, Including Labor Day 2016 Forecast

What you see during the workweek is what you should expect to get over the Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2-5. Outdoor activities should be a go.

METRO DETROIT, MI — If you’re planning one great escape for the Labor Day weekend, whether it’s to the beach, the annual Arts, Beats & Eats festival in Royal Oak or some other end-of-the-summer destination or celebration, the weather should cooperate

According to The Weather Channel’s 10-day forecast, rain chances are minimal in the Friday-Monday Labor Day 2016 weather forecast in Metro Detroit, and daytime temperatures will be truly beach worthy.

And if you’re sneaking out early to grab one last burst of summer before the kids go back to school after Labor Day, you’ll have glorious weather.

Here’s the seven-day forecast for Metro Detroit from the National Weather Service:

Monday: Areas of fog before 11 a.m.; otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 83 and a northeast wind 3 to 5 mph. Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62 and northeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 85, calm wind becoming west southwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Tuesday night: A 30 percent chance of showers after 9 p.m., partly cloudy, with a low around 66, west southwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming northwest after midnight.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers before 9 a.m., then, mostly sunny with a high near 79. Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 60.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74. Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 74. Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 78. Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 81.

Labor Day: The Weather Channel says rain chances are only 10 percent on Labor Day and that the daytime high should be around 86 degrees.
