New Kroger Coming To St. Clair Shores
New Kroger Grocery will replace a longtime St. Clair Shores store.

ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI — By 2019, St. Clair Shores residents will have a new state-of-the-art, 103,000 square-foot Kroger store to shop for groceries. Plans were recently announced at a city council meeting. Kroger will replace Kmart at the corner of Nine Mile Road and Harper Avenue.
“It’ll be very nice,” Kroger consultant Mike McPherson said. “We think it’s actually a modern-looking building. The city will be one of the first ones in the area to get one like this.”
"Councilman John Caron said that, looking at the plan, which includes green spaces in the parking lot, he thinks it will be a “great improvement for that whole corner. That Kmart store’s been a fixture in the city. A little sad to see it go, but glad you guys are bringing in a new, big, modern building.”
