The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality keeps track of closures and other conditions on its Beach Guard website.

Another great resource is the My Beach Cast offers a mobile app, which not only helps people locate beaches in the Great Lakes region, but also gives real-time information on water quality advisories, weather, water and wind conditions, and other valuable information.

My Beach Cast is supported in part with funding from the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.
