ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI — More than $10,000 was raised and 101 heads shaved bald to fight childhood cancer in St. Clair Shores on Sept. 23. The St. Baldrick’s event was held at Buffalo Wild Wings with a focus of showing solidarity with children fighting cancer.
"Organizer Kevin Danaj said he felt blessed with the amount of people who came out to take part in the event and the amount of money they raised for St. Baldrick’s. “It’s a team of volunteers that come together,” he said. “At the end of the day, it’s all worth it.”
"Twenty members of the St. Clair Shores Fire Department ended up going bald for the cause, and the St. Clair Shores Firefighters Union raised more than $9,900. “We love solidarity. We love helping kids and charities,” said Robert Cook, a firefighter who shaved his head.
