Third Brewery on Tap for St. Clair Shores

Nautical theme Shipwreck Brewing Presented Site Plan to City Council; will locate on Jefferson Ave.

(Originally published Dec. 7, 2016) ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI — A third brewery is coming to St. Clair Shores after the City Council approved site plans for Shipwreck Brewing at its Nov. 21 meeting, The St. Clair Sentinel reported. John Demers' new brewery will occupy the former Kolping Center on Jefferson Avenue.

“This is a great project for the Nautical Mile,” Councilman Ron Frederick said. “We’re becoming Grand Rapids East. We’re starting our brewing thing.”

St. Clair Shores is already home to Baffin Brewery, and in September approved plans for Jamex Brewing Co.
