Woman Found Frozen On Elementary School Playground

The 96-year-old woman was found wearing a robe and slippers, and apparently suffered from dementia.

ROSEVILLE, MI – The body of a 96-year-old woman was found at a school playground on Tuesday. According to a report by the Detroit News, she was wearing a nightgown, robe and slippers, and apparently had wandered away from her home.

The woman, who was not identified, had been living alone and recently diagnosed with the early stages of dementia, according to The Detroit News. The woman's body was found Tuesday lying in the playground of Dort Elementary, according the newspaper.

Foul play was not suspected, said Roseville Police Chief James Berlin in a statement.

The Macomb County Medical Examiner's Office has ruled the woman's death accidental and attributed to the extreme cold freezing temperatures.
