Eberly died in June after shooting at a Tennessee deputy who checked on him after seeing he was pulled over to the side of the road, The News-Herald reported. The officer was shot in the chest but was wearing a bullet proof vest. It is unclear if Eberly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound or if it was from the officer returning fire, according to The News-Herald.
