Updated: Mother Tells Trenton Police Her Son is Victim of 'Knockout Game'

Police said a 14-year-old boy was struck in the face while jogging at night through his neighborhood.

The mother of 14-year-old boy told Trenton police Dec.3 that her son was the victim of the “knockout game" while he was jogging in the neighborhood.

Police said the juvenile was running eastbound along the north sidewalk of Woodside near Grange around 9:40 p.m. when he was blindsided once to his face, knocking him to the ground.  The victim said he was wearing headphones and didn’t hear anyone approach from behind.

The boy saw two white males in all black clothing fleeing east on Woodside. Both suspects were reported wearing hoods. 

The victim did not receive medical attention, as there were no visible injuries to his face, police said.

Trenton Police Chief Steven Voss said that "detectives are still actively investigating the case in conjunction with the school...for any information about possible suspects." 

"It could be several different things, but, as of now, we don’t think that it was an attempted robbery because nothing was taken," the chief said.
