The chase started at 8:40 p.m. on Fort Street where an officer clocked the white and gray bike traveling 78 mph in a 50-mph zone. When officers initiated pursuit, the bike was speeding northbound toward West Road, running red lights at Harrison and King.

The driver eluded one of the officers, but was later seen by police turning onto Detroit Street from Sibley. The officer did not attempt pursuit as the bike accelerated and "jumped Sibley from Roehrig onto Kurise Street and into the city of Riverview," the report said.
