Motown Museum announced today that on Tuesday, April 25, it will offer adults two Museum admission tickets for the price of one, and free admission to kids 12 and under in celebration of the late Motown Museum founder Esther Gordy Edwards’ birthday, which has become known as Founders Day. Motown Museum Chairwoman and CEO Robin Terry made the announcement.

“On Founders Day, we celebrate the dedication and passion my grandmother had for preserving the space where the Motown legacy was born for generations to come to be inspired by the creativity and vision that led to the greatest musical legacy of all time,” said Terry. “We also remember her for her service and leadership at Motown Record Corporation and the their critical roles she played in a countless number of social, charitable and cultural causes. We invite the community to visit the Museum on Founders Day as a way to celebrate her memory and experience the memorable and authentic experience the Museum offers our guests.”

Edwards founded Motown Museum in 1985. Sister of Motown Records Corporation Founder Berry Gordy, she held a variety of key leadership roles in the company, including senior vice president and corporate secretary.
