Relief at the Pump: Gas Prices Falling from Summer Peak
The cheapest gas in Trenton and Grosse Ile today is $3.79 and $3.99 per gallon, and prices are expected to continue falling in coming weeks.

The average price for a gallon of gas is slowly starting to fall after hitting a seasonal peak of $3.87 on Sept. 14, according to the Wall Street Journal.
AAA reports the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $3.79 today; one year ago today, the national average was $3.50 per gallon.

“Retail gasoline prices have slowly been drifting lower since we hit a late summer peak of $3.8708 a gallon on Sept. 14,” Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at the Oil Price Information Service (OPIS), told the Wall Street Journal. He added that gas prices could fall into the $3.70s this week.
In Trenton and Grosse Ile, you can find the cheapest gas at Marathon (West Jefferson and Van Horn), which is currently charging $3.79 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline. Sunoco (Meridian & Macomb) is charging $3.99.
