Target shoppers’ personal information, including phone numbers and email addresses, are now at risk following the pre-Christmas data hijacking, the Associated Press reported Friday.

The department store is now saying the breach could affect as many as 70 million customers.

Target initially said in December that approximately 40 million credit and debit cards might have been stolen due to a data breach between Nov. 27 and Dec. 15.

The retailer told the AP Friday that the personal information breach is not a separate incident, and that it was discovered during its ongoing investigation.

"Target Corp.'s stock fell in Friday premarket trading," the AP said.

Target said they will offer free credit monitoring for all of their guests. Click here to find out more.
