Trenton Firefighters Hold Winter Coat Drive

As temperatures drop to subzero depths, the Trenton Fire Department wants your help in making sure the less fortunate have warm clothing this season.

Over the next few months, the fire department will be accepting coats and other winter apparel to benefit the needy. Donation boxes are currently setup at each fire station. 

Gently used coats, hats, scarves, gloves and mittens are appreciated and will be given to Arthur’s Closet at Boyd W. Arthurs Middle School, 4000 Marian Drive.

Arthur’s Closet provides needy families with free clothing and shoes.

Fire Chief Jeff Evans said this is the first year the department decided to collect winter clothing for the less fortunate.

“Maybe a parent couldn’t afford to get their son or daughter a new coat this year, “ Evans said. “With the weather the way it is, people need all the help they can get.”

Donations can be dropped off at station one, 200 Maple, or station two, 1989 King Road.
