Trenton Firefighters Hold Winter Coat Drive

Gently used coats, hats, scarves, gloves and mittens are appreciated and will be given to Arthur's Closet at Boyd W. Arthurs Middle School, where Downriver families can go for free clothing.

As temperatures drop to subzero depths, the Trenton Fire Department wants your help in making sure the less fortunate have warm clothing this season.

Over the next few months, the fire department will be accepting coats and other winter apparel to benefit the needy. Donation boxes are currently setup at each fire station.

Gently used coats, hats, scarves, gloves and mittens are appreciated and will be given to Arthur’s Closet at Boyd W. Arthurs Middle School, 4000 Marian Drive.

“Maybe a parent couldn’t afford to get their son or daughter a new coat this year, “ Evans said. “With the weather the way it is, people need all the help they can get.”

Donations can be dropped off at station one, 200 Maple, or station two, 1989 King Road.

To schedule an appointment to visit Arthur’s Closet, call 734.676.8700. All are welcome, but asked to only take what is needed.
