Bond proposal to fix roads and water mains falls short in Nov. 3 vote

Grosse Ile voters voted down a 20-year, $18.8 million bond proposal Tuesday, Nov.3, that was aimed at fixing roads and improving water mains in the township.

The measure fell 56-44 percent.

The bond would have raised the average millage rate for residents and, for example, would have cost owners of homes with a market value of $250,000 an additional $264.59 per year.
