Daedalus 2 Mission: A Space Opera

Premiere at the Crofoot

Local composer Jim Territo will be premiering “The Daedalus 2 Mission: A Space Opera” on August 10 at the The Crofoot in Pontiac. The 12-song, sci-fi-inspired rock fantasy (Music by Jim Territo, Lyrics by Jim and Joe Territo) tells the story of a team of robot probes who meet their ends in the galaxy’s distant future. Along the way, they consider what it really means to live. The songs span genres including rock, reggae, opera, electronica, and hip hop, with thought-provoking lyrics, charged vocals, and brilliant instrumentals.

“Daedalus 2 Mission has been over two years in the making – and I think we have nailed it!” said Jim Territo. “We have a wonderful group of talented musical artists that are breathing life into this fantasy opera. I am anxiously awaiting our Pontiac debut to introduce the public to this unique, rockin’, production!”

The evening begins at 8 pm with a performance by The Paco Higdon Band (https://pacohigdon.com/). The Space Opera begins at 9 pm, featuring some of Southeast Michigan’s finest musicians: Jim Territo of Clarkston; Kim Alley of Redford; Amy Blevins of Waterford (Choral teacher at Marian HS); Gui Cavichioli of Troy (Brazilian born guitarist)r; Paco Higdon of Royal Oak (Paco Higdon Band); Takashi Iio of Ferndale (Detroit Music Award Outstanding Jazz Instrumentalist); Kyndal McAlister of Waterford (Kyngpin Music); Thom Monks of Farmington Hills (Main Street Soul); Joe Territo of White Lake (co-author); and Phil Treais of Waterford (Philly and the Flipsters).
