Lottery Jackpot: 3rd Win Was The Charm For This Mich. Man

An Oakland County man pressed his luck. It paid off.

Mark Maltz, of Waterford, Michigan, pressed his luck. And won. Big time.

After buying a pair of winning scratch-off lottery tickets, first winning $10 and then $15, he bought a $10 Jackpot Slots Fast Cash ticket. It was a winner for $325,184.

"When I saw I was a winner, I started freaking out. I just kept thinking: ‘I can’t believe I just won,'" said Maltz, who works for a towing company.

The 42-year-old collected his winnings on Tuesday. He plans to invest the prize, he said, according to a statement by the Michigan Lottery.

“I’m going to sit on this for a little while and decide how to best invest it and make it last me a long time,” Maltz said.

The Michigan Lottery's Fast Cash games are instant-win games printed by lottery terminals at Michigan stores. The tickets cost between $1 and $10 per play. Maltz said he bought his ticket last Friday at the BP gas station on Union Lake Road in Commerce Township.

Fast Cash games feature a progressive jackpot that can be won instantly, and each ticket gives players a chance to win all or part of the progressive jackpot.

All of the Fast Cash games feed into one jackpot, which grows with every ticket purchased, according to the Michigan Lottery. The current jackpot amount prints on each ticket, so players know the amount of the jackpot up for grabs. The jackpot may be won at any time. As soon as the jackpot is hit, a new one starts again.
