Michigan Sneaker Chain Mr. Alan’s Opens in West Bloomfield
Mr. Alan's to donate in-demand sneakers for a fundraiser to support West Bloomfield High School's prom program for special needs students.

From Mr. Alan's: Mr. Alan’s CEO Jacob Bishop is going back to his roots, with the opening of a new store in West Bloomfield located at [33140 Northwestern Highway, West Bloomfield MI 48322] which is down the road from his old high school. It is an exciting year of expansion for the 43-year-old family-owned sneaker and sports apparel retain chain as the company opened its first store in Lansing in February, and in the coming weeks, the Redford-based company will open its first outlet store in Detroit, followed by a store in Clinton Township and a second store in Grand Rapids.
“I spent my youth growing up in the West Bloomfield area, so to be opening a store here is energizing for me personally,” says Bishop, 31. “I am looking forward to our company connecting with customers and friends in this area as we continue to host the fun in-store events we are known for, as well as offering the very latest in demand sneakers and apparel.”
Mr. Alan’s has developed a reputation for reaching its customer base through participation in community causes, such as collecting and distributing water bottles during the Flint water crisis. To celebrate the West Bloomfield store opening, Bishop will be giving a talk to West Bloomfield High School students about his road to business success. In addition, Bishop will be donating five highly coveted sneakers from his own personal collection for a fundraiser. Money raised through the fundraiser will benefit the school’s prom program for students with autism and cognitive impairments, giving these students the ultimate prom experience.
