Probing Privilege Series: Just Mercy

A new Zoom series of book and film discussions regarding privilege and race will examine the criminal justice system and the film Just Mercy

Issues of race and privilege are at the forefront of the national dialogue. Questions of what constitutes systemic racism occupy much thought and concern in the present social context of North America. Pine Hill Congregational Church will hold a series of virtual book and film discussions to seek greater understanding about privilege and race and consider how to constructively respond. While not exclusively a class for those who are religious, faith perspectives will be part of the conversations. Open to all, they will be offered via Zoom, with the first one taking place on Thursday, August 27, 2020, at 3:00 pm, and the impact of systemic racism on the criminal justice system will be examined in the film Just Mercy, based on the book by Bryan Stevenson. Please email drcapacker@gmail.com if you would like to receive a Zoom invitation by Wednesday, August 26, 2020. There is no charge.
