Summer in West Bloomfield Jam-Packed with Camps, Fun

West Bloomfield Parks & Rec's Summer Camp and Swim Sneak Peek is April 16, where parents can register kids early and beat the deadline.

WEST BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI – There is so much going on this summer for West Bloomfield Township families that it will be hard to keep track of it all.

The West Bloomfield Parks & Recreation Commission is sponsoring a Summer Camp and Swim Sneak Peek on April 16, as well as an opportunity to register early for the more than 45 camps that will be offered this year.

New this year is a full slate of nature camps. Camps are geared for children ages 3-15. Morning and afternoon latchkey day camp programs are offered for the day camp, Camp WB, as well as select other camps.

The Sneak Peak will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at the Family Aquatic Center, 6200 Farmington Road. Also planned for that day are game and craft stations, and free snow cones and popcorn while supplies last.

All attendees will be entered in a raffle to win a free week of camp or a swim lesson.The winner will be announced at 1 p.m. the day of the Sneak Peek (need not be present to win).

Here’s some of what’s on tap for the summer:

​Camp Preview

  • Lead Camp WB and Nature Camp staff as well as 10+ additional camp vendors will be on site to meet your camper and answer questions.
  • This is the first day you can register for camps; many of our camps fill fast!
  • At registration, each camper will receive a water bottle! Camp WB and Nature Campers will also receive their t-shirts.

To register, you’ll need to complete all required paperwork, including medical. This is the first day you can register for 2016 camps.

Be prepared to complete registration packet. The packet includes a medical administration release form and you will have to state your child’s physician information and health insurance number.
