Suspect Linked to Multiple West Bloomfield Car Larcenies

A search of suspect's home tied him to car larcenies in West Bloomfield Township, Bloomfield Township and Orchard Lake, police said.

West Bloomfield Township, MI — The suspect in a spate of recent car larcenies has been arrested on multiple felonies and misdemeanor charges, West Bloomfield Township police said.

Police took four calls on single day earlier this month about larcenies of unlocked vehicles in the area of Leroy Lane and Mandale Lane, according to a news release. The victims in the June 2 larcenies all reported the theft of personal property, and several reported damage after a fire extinguisher was deployed.

Later, officers took a report relating to the fraudulent use of several credit cards stolen from one of the victim’s vehicles. During the investigation, police reviewed surveillance video showed the male suspect, later identified as a 20-year-old West Bloomfield man, using the credit card at area Meijer and Walmart stores, police said.
