Sustaining Christian Community: I Corinthians for a Divided World

Paul's first letter to the Corinthians presented the potential for Christian community in a time when there was much conflict and disunity.

Sustaining Christian Community is an interactive online study of the early Christian writer Paul's correspondence to a church that struggled with issues of divisiveness and disunity in the midst of in the first century of the Common Era. Held via Zoom on Mondays at 4:00 pm Eastern Time, the course pursues the potential of Christian community in the midst of a current time of much upheaval and polarization. Sessions are open to all, and to get a Zoom link to classes, you may contact the instructor, Dr. Charles Packer, at drcapacker@gmail.com. Dr. Packer, a graduate of the University of Iowa and the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, is an Adjunct Professor at the Ecumenical Theological Seminary, teaching classes on biblical interpretation, perspectives on ministry, and approaches to theological research and writing.
