Text Message Spat Leads to Fight with Baseball Bat: Police
Two men got into a dispute over a woman and now one of them faces multiple criminal charges.
WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI – A West Bloomfield man faces multiple assault charges after he allegedly struck another man with a baseball bat and tried to run over him with his vehicle in a dispute over a mutual female acquaintance, police said.

Jimmy Corella, 25, of West Bloomfield, is chaged with second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, WHEC reports.

The charges were filed in connection with a dispute in Groveland at 11:45 a.m. on May 1. Michigan State Police officers from the Geneseo post responded to the assault, which apparently began with a text message exchange between the two men.
The physical confrontation occurred at the 30-year-old victim’s residence.
