Of course, there will be plenty of activities to put kids’ imagination in gear. They’ll be able to climb into police, fire, trash and other work vehicles they see every day on the street, but don’t get to touch.

Several organizations will be bringing large vehicles for children to explore in including the West Bloomfield Police and Fire Departments, Farmington Hills Department of Public Works, Orchard Lake Department of Public Works, Rizzo Services, Lakeside Towing, Michigan Caterpillar, ITC Holdings, Reaction Tree Service, Busch’s Fresh Food Market and Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital.

All that truck-touching is sure to work up kids’ appetites, so several food trucks will be rolling in to give families the option to purchase dinner, beverages and snacks.

Food truck options:

  • The Mean Weenie
  • Kona Ice
  • Rolling Stone
  • Buffy's Mexi-casian
  • Smoke Ring
  • Beignets

There were also be inflatables for kids to play in. Because shoes aren’t allowed, be sure to bring socks.

Parks & Rec will also provide a sampler of some of the camps that will be offered this summer. Staff members will conduct mini-clinics and answer questions.

And leave the pooch at home. This isn’t a dog-friendly event.
