Twenty-four West Bloomfield DECA Students Qualify for States

Twenty-four West Bloomfield High School DECA Students Qualify for Michigan State Career Development Conference

West Bloomfield, MI - One-hundred West Bloomfield High School DECA students competed at the District 6 competition on Friday, December 13 at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan. West Bloomfield students earned fifty medallions with twenty-four students qualifying to attend the Michigan State Career Development Conference held in Detroit, Michigan March 5-7, 2020.

Students put their marketing and business knowledge to the test in each of their competitive events. They also met and networked with other members from around the district. Students completed an online test prior to the conference and then performed an impromptu-role-play-situation in front of a local judge in their chosen area of focus.

The following individuals placed and will move on to the state competition in March in Detroit, Michigan where they will join more than forty other WBHS DECA competitors.

West Bloomfield High School DECA is a Career and Technical Student Organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in four fields of business: marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. DECA integrates into classroom instruction, applies learning, connects to business, and promotes competition to prepare the next generation to be academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible, and experienced leaders. Students enrolled at WBHS in Marketing, Advanced Marketing, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Accounting, AP Macro/Micro Economics, Personal Finance or Growing Your Own Business may participate in the schools co-curricular DECA program.
