Walled Lake Students To Perform At Michigan Music Conference
Over 2,500 students from across the state of Michigan auditioned for the All-State program.

From Walled Lake: Eight Walled Lake band and orchestra students have been selected to perform in the 2017 MSBOA All-State Ensembles. Over 2,500 students from across the state of Michigan auditioned for the All-State program. The audition required students to perform difficult etudes, a list of memorized scales, and sight-read a piece of music they had never seen before. Only the top performers for each instrument were selected for the All-State Program. The All-State ensembles will perform at the Michigan Music Conference on Saturday, Jan. 21.
The following students will be performing in the All-State bands and orchestras:
- Neel Nyamagoudar – Bass clarinet, Geisler Middle School
- Wesley Scallions – Trumpet, Walled Lake Western High School
- Liza Knight – Bassoon, Walled Lake Western High School
- Peter Fargo – String bass, Walled Lake Western High School
- Lauren Goff – French horn, Walled Lake Central High School
- Anna Gruzas – French horn, Walled Lake Central High School
- Elena Harroun – Piccolo, Walled Lake Central High School
- Kaitlyn Bowen – Trumpet, Walled Lake Northern High School
Additionally, the Walled Lake Central Wind Symphony has been selected to perform at the MMC.
