West Bloomfield Jewelry Store Promotes Charity's Cards, Ornament

Lolly Ella Jewelry in West Bloomfield is once again supporting the important work of Big Family of Michigan this holiday season. Unique holiday ornaments and greeting cards have been created displaying artwork submitted by foster children in Michigan.

Big Family of Michigan is a nonprofit organization in southeast Michigan serving the needs of children waiting to be adopted or are victims of child abuse. During the summer months, the organization asked children in the foster care system to submit artwork reflecting a holiday message. Five pieces were selected to be recreated on greeting cards and ceramic ornaments.

“We believe strongly that Big Family’s programs are so important to the youth in our communities,” said Pam Strauch, co-owner of Lolly Ella Jewelry. “Since 2011, we have created an in store program for the holidays to raise awareness and funds for the organization.

“This year we took the artwork from their holiday cards and created some beautiful ornaments. We are sure our customers will love them.”

Artwork chosen:

• Cards and ornaments: “Dog,” Christopher, age 10, and “Happiness Is,” Torrey, age 15.
• Cards only: “Merry Christmas,” Jonathan, age 15; “Happy Holiday,” Rena, age 15; and “Tree,” Destiny, age 6. Card inside message: “May peace, joy, hope & happiness be yours this holiday season and throughout the new year!”

Cards are currently available and the ornament promotion will begin Nov. 28. Proceeds are donated to Big Family of Michigan.

Lolly Ella Jewelry will be hosting its annual Lolly Jolly Bash from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, Guests will have the opportunity to meet Jeanne Fowler, founder of Big Family of Michigan, purchase the holiday items and enjoy great savings on holiday gift items.
